Fuel, LPG supply normal in Himachal; Avoid panic buying: State-level coordinator of oil marketing companies
Shimla, April 4,
Amid concerns over possible shortages, the supply of petroleum products and LPG in Himachal Pradesh remains stable and sufficient, state-level coordinator of oil marketing companies (OMCs) I.L. Negi has said, urging consumers not to panic.
Negi stated that OMCs are fully capable of meeting the current demand across the state. Adequate stocks of Motor Spirit (petrol) and High-Speed Diesel are available at depots, while petrol pumps are operating with uninterrupted supplies, ensuring smooth availability for consumers.
He said the overall stock position of automotive fuels remains normal, with sufficient reserves maintained at both depot and retail levels. The supply chain is being closely monitored to prevent any disruption.
On LPG availability, Negi said the situation is equally comfortable, with bottling plants maintaining inventory within prescribed norms. He added that replenishment plans are in place to ensure continuous and timely supply to domestic consumers.

Appealing to the public, Negi urged people to avoid panic buying or unnecessary stockpiling, emphasizing that there is no shortage and supplies are being maintained regularly.
He also advised LPG consumers to use digital platforms for cylinder bookings and to authenticate deliveries through the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system. This, he said, would enhance transparency and ensure timely delivery to genuine consumers.
Negi stressed that public cooperation is essential to maintain a smooth and efficient fuel distribution system across Himachal Pradesh.
