Till Monday evening 92 people from the ‘Tablighi Jamaat’ who had first contact at the Markaj have come forward to disclose and have gone in quarantine, stated SR Mardi DGP of Himachal Pradesh in a media brief today. Adding that total of 421 people who were directly/indirectly associated with them have also quarantined themselves. “ I congratulate the people and district Aamirs of ‘Tablighi Jamaat’ for coming forward to disclose their travel history in this time of crisis,” praised the DGP.
He said that with four confirmed cases yesterday the total tally of under treatment in HP has moved upto 11 and all of them are from Tablighi Jamaat. The travel history of the four confirmed cases yesterday night, being treated in Tanda is being probed. As per initial information on 20 March they have traveled by train till Punjab and thereafter reached Tissa on a vehicle. He said the train coach number and vehicle number are being checked and suitable action is being initiated.
In the brief Mardi also requested people to not come out everyday for purchasing. He advised that a house hold should stock for 3-4 days at least so that more time can be spent in isolation and thus breaking the virus chain. Besides, he also urged citizens to donate large heatedly in the COVID fund, created by Central/state government(s).
