AAP and Congress among 22 candidates File Nomination for Shimla MC Polls
Shimla, April 17
On the second day of filing nominations for the Shimla Municipal Corporation Election, a total of 22 candidates submitted their papers. According to Anil Khachi, the State Election Commission, out of the 22 candidates, 13 filed nominations from the BJP, three from the Congress, one from AAP, and five independent candidates.
The maximum number of nominations, three, were filed for the Kanganadhar wards, while two nominations were filed each for Krishnanagar, Engineghar, Sangti, and Patyog. The last day for filing nominations is tomorrow, and the election is scheduled for May 2.

Some of the BJP candidates who filed their papers are Bittu Panna for Krishna Nagar Ward, Ranu Chauhan from Kangnadhar, Alka Kanwar from Kachchhati, Bharti Sood from Lower Bazar, Asha Sharma from Patyog, Dr. Sapna Kashyap from Annadale, Meenakshi Goyal from Tutu, Saroj Thakur from RulduBhatta, Rama Kumar from Vikas Nagar, and Kamal Thakur from Sangti.
It is worth noting that no candidate from CPI(M) has filed their papers so far.
