Accused gets bail in Viral letter case
Shimla, Aug 31
An accused individual has been granted bail in the allegedly viral fake letter case after spending three days in police remand. The accused, Manoj Kumar from Bharmour in the Chamba district, was released on Thursday by Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Shimla. The decision was made after the police presented him before the court earlier this afternoon.
A case has been filed under section 500 & 505(2) of the IPC, in the matter.

Although two other individuals, hailing from Mandi and Chamba districts, were also questioned regarding the case, however they were not taken into custody. The police’s investigation in the matter has indicated that they are closing in on identifying the source responsible for the letter’s creation.
According to a report from local vernacular media, there are indications that a senior leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might have been involved in the alleged crime and could potentially be subjected to questioning. The media reports suggests that the accused individuals had disclosed the name of this BJP leader, who may face interrogation in the near future.
