Shimla, Aug 27
Adani Agrifresh Limited (AAFL) has announced a revision of procurement rates for the current season in Himachal Pradesh.
The new rates, effective from August 26, reflect a 12.5 percent increase compared to last year.
According to the revised schedule, premium-grade Shimla Royal apples with 80 to 100 percent color will fetch between Rs 45 to Rs 90 per kg, depending on size, while supreme-grade apples (60 to 80 percent color) will be procured at Rs 30 to Rs 70 per kg. For PITTU category, premium apples will be purchased at Rs 50 per kg, while supreme apples will be bought at Rs 30 per kg. Apples with less than 60 percent color, undersized fruit, and ROL apples have been fixed at Rs 20 to Rs 25 per kg.
The revised rates are applicable across AAFL’s procurement centers at Rampur, Sainj, Rohru, Jarol Tikkar, and Tuttutpani in Shimla district.
Anshuman Gunjan, Corporate Communications, Adani Agrifresh, said the step has been taken to ensure that farmers get the best value for their produce. “AAFL is committed to the betterment of apple farmers in the state, and this revision will strengthen their returns this season,” he said while extending greetings on Ganesh Chaturthi.
The announcement is expected to bring relief to thousands of apple growers in Himachal Pradesh, where horticulture is a key driver of the rural economy.
