Shimla, May 24
Around 4500 drivers of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation threatened to go on statewide Kam chhordo(leave stairing) from May 30. They have taken this call after failing of talks between HRTC management and nine drivers unions here today.
Office Bearers to HRTC staff joint action committee confirmed to us that talk between HRTC Managing Director Sanders Kumar and State Driver Unions President Mann Singh ended without any solution as HRTC management rejected two main demands of announcement of new payscale to HRTC Employees and release of 35 months pending over time to HRTC drivers and conductor. MD promised to consider the demands of new pay revision upto July this year and also set up the committee to study and calculate the pending demand of over time.
Union boycotted the talk on the confrontation between both on the demand. Now HRTC union would leave stairing of all services on May 30 a day head Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit. HRTC plays an important role to ferry poltical workers from all over state to Shimla in rally may scuttle PM rally as BJP is in power in the state. AAP party spokesperson told us that its recent rally also could not draw more crowd as HRTC management was forced to not book of poltical outfits affected the strength of rally.
