The All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced two more candidates for the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly bye-elections in a press release issued on Sunday. Anuradha Rana has been nominated to represent the Lahaul-Spiti-ST constituency, while Subhash Chand will contest from the Barsar constituency.
Rana and Chand to face party rebel Ravi Thakur and Inderdutt Lakhanpal who joined BJP recently after cross voting in RS poll. Since BJP rebels were keen to contest on the party ticket but AICC selections demonstrate the party’s commitment to inclusivity and grassroots representation.
Rana’s candidacy underscores the Congress’s focus on empowering women and tribal communities, while Chand’s nomination reflects their dedication to addressing local concerns effectively.
The AICC’s strategic approach aims to bolster its standing in Himachal Pradesh’s political arena, showcasing confidence in the leadership abilities of the chosen candidates, party press release said.
Now party have to announce one more seats for Dharmshala bye election.
