Shimla, July 29
The Shimla district administration warned the benifciery of Pradhan Mantri Mat Vandana Yojana ( a centrally sponsored scheme) that they might be the target of the cyber fraudsters’ attack.
A case of online financial fraud came to notice in Shimla district today. District Program Officer Shimla (ICDS) Mamta Paul has issued a notice to all the Child Development Project Officers of Shimla District, cautioning them that all the beneficiaries associated with the scheme need to be alerted and if they got any call about the transfer of Rs 5000 in their account and demand of OTP.
It is worth mentioning that under this scheme, the amount of Rs.5000 is being provided to the women who become mothers for the first time. She warned that a fake call was being made in the name of SMJ SOLUTION PVT LTD, alluring beneficiaries of PMMVY being run by ICDS.
The fraudsters are trapping people by alluring the beneficiary to transfer Rs 5000 to their account online. She said that in case of any such call, the victim should immediately call the ICDS Officer and not share PIN or OTP with anyone.
