BJP demands transfer of officers for free and fair elections in Himachal Pradesh
Shimla, Mar 27
While claiming to uphold the sanctity of democratic processes, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Himachal Pradesh has submitted a formal request to the Election Commissioner of India. The party seeks the transfer of officers within the Shimla Parliamentary Constituency to ensure impartiality in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha by-elections.
The BJP highlights that several key officers overseeing election operations hail from areas within the constituency, potentially raising concerns about bias or favoritism. Among these officersaas as per BJP are the Superintendent of Police from Arki, District Solan, and Deputy Commissioners from Shimla. The saffron party in the complaint atated that these prolonged postings could compromise the neutrality of the electoral process.
As the election season unfolds, the BJP emphasizes the critical need for a level playing field and calls for immediate action to transfer these officers. The party underscores its commitment to fair and transparent elections, advocating for measures that safeguard the democratic rights of citizens.
Stay tuned for further developments as the Election Commission deliberates on the BJP’s appeal for electoral integrity in Himachal Pradesh.
