Shimla, May 28
The political battlefield of Himachal Pradesh just got hotter! The BJP has thrown down the gauntlet, filing a complaint with the Election Commission of India. The target? A Congress spokesperson accused of launching a venomous attack on Bollywood’s firebrand and BJP candidate, Kangana Ranaut.
Pramod Kumar Thakur, the fiery State Office Secretary of BJP, and the relentless Bharati Sood, BJP Mahila Morcha Convenor, are leading the charge. They claim that Gurvaksh Singh Thakur, the Congress spokesperson from Karsog, District Mandi, along with the mysterious handler of the Facebook page “The Viral Himachal,” circulated a jaw-dropping, doctored image. This image outrageously links Kangana with underworld don Abu Salem – a brazen lie! The man in the photo is actually Mark Manuel, a former entertainment editor of the Times of India.
The BJP’s explosive complaint argues this stunt is a calculated strike to smear Kangana’s stellar reputation. Kangana, a Padma Shri awardee and a heroine in her own right, is allegedly being dragged through the mud in a vile bid to undermine her credibility and sway voters.
This scandalous image, which has spread like wildfire, is being condemned as false, derogatory, and utterly baseless. It has caused a storm of distress not only for Kangana but for her legions of fans and the proud people of Himachal Pradesh. Despite previous pleas from Kangana’s camp, the lack of action has supposedly emboldened the Congress to continue its malicious campaign.
Thakur’s complaint demands swift and severe legal action against Gurvaksh Singh Thakur under a slew of laws, including the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act 2000, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986. The BJP is calling for the arrest of Thakur, the removal of the defamatory content, and the freezing of the offending social media accounts.
In a parallel offensive, Bharati Sood has taken the fight to the Mahila Police Station in Shimla, highlighting the sexist and derogatory remarks being flung at Kangana on social media. She calls for ironclad legal measures to stop women from being reduced to mere targets of public slander.
The BJP’s complaints, echoed to the Chief Electoral Officer of Himachal Pradesh and the Returning Officer of Mandi, demand immediate intervention to halt these defamatory antics. They argue that the Congress’s tactics are not just an assault on Kangana’s personal and professional integrity, but a blow to the values of fair and respectful political discourse.
As election fever reaches a boiling point, the BJP is rallying for a robust judicial crackdown to preserve the dignity of individuals and the sanctity of the electoral process. With Bollywood’s queen Kangana Ranaut stepping into the political arena from the Mandi Parliamentary constituency, this election promises to be nothing short of electrifying. And rest assured, the BJP hints that Kangana herself is ready to take legal action against her defamers.
Stay tuned as this political thriller unfolds, with stakes higher and drama thicker than ever!
