Shimla, May 28,
The BJP’s religion is only power and property. Modi and Shah tried to topple the elected government of the state with money power. Modi waived off the loans of his billionaire friends, but he does not have money to waive the loans of farmers. This was stated by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, launching a strong verbal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP on the second day of the election campaign in Himachal Pradesh. She started her speech in Gagret of Una district with the chanting of Chintpurni Mata and Lord Bholenath.
After addressing the election rally in the Kutlehar assembly constituency, Priyanka also took out a roadshow in Bhota and Badsar market in the Badsar assembly constituency, which received immense public support. Priyanka sought votes for Lok Sabha candidate Satpal Raijada, and assembly candidates Rakesh Kalia, Vivek Sharma, and Subhash Dhatwalia. She said that even today, the BJP is trying to destabilize the Himachal government. It is because of the determination and unity of our leaders that we are still running the government. Those who had to go have left for good, and the truth should come out in front of the public. The truth of the BJP came out in front of the public during the disaster and efforts to topple the government. Modi uses religion in politics but does not do religious work. He does not have faith in the public. Which religion are the BJP people protecting, who topple governments with money power and buy MLAs for crores of rupees? They do not support during disasters. What kind of Prime Minister is Modi, who completely denied the disaster in Himachal?
Priyanka said that the BJP became the richest party in the world in ten years. It is important to know how this happened; donations were taken from big companies by threatening them. She said that the BJP has money to spend on the 6 by-elections being held in Himachal, but there is no money to give during the disaster. The Modi government worked only to mislead the public for ten years. The disaster in Himachal was not declared a national disaster. The state government rehabilitated 22,000 affected families from its own funds, but the Modi government did not give a single rupee. Despite the economic crisis, 1.36 lakh employees were given OPS. Daughters and women above 18 years of age are being given a pension of Rs 1500. Himachal is the first state to give MSP on milk, and its Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu lives in harmony with the people. You have seen his work during the disaster.
She said that the MP of Hamirpur parliamentary constituency, Anurag Thakur, is not visible to the public. He is seen in Delhi in suits and boots with his billionaire friends. Modi is also like this; he also does not go to his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. His ideology is different. Former PM Indira Gandhi used to go door-to-door to know the problems of the people. People used to scold her, but she never felt bad. Today’s Prime Minister should show some tolerance for scolding. On one hand, there is an ideology of mingling with the country; on the other hand, the BJP invests Rs 100-100 crore to buy Congress MLAs to topple the government. There is no trace of democracy in the country under Modi’s rule. There are 70 crore unemployed in the country. Schemes like Agniveer are darkening the future of the youth. Congress will stop the Agniveer scheme as soon as it comes to power. MNREGA wages will be Rs 400 per day. Urban MNREGA will be started. Small businesses will be strengthened. The people of Himachal should vote consciously on June 1. Winning all four Lok Sabha and six assembly seats should send a message across the country that the people of Devbhoomi do not tolerate the politics of money power. The people here are pure and decent; they have a sense of civilization.
“I also have a home in Himachal. People live a simple life and do not fall for lies much. For the last one and a half years, the Congress government has served the people, but the BJP is unable to digest this. All our leaders are engaged in public service, while the BJP and Prime Minister Modi are doing politics; they did not even care about Himachal during the disaster, “she concluded.
