Breach of construction norms : Shimla MC slaps notice to disqualified Congress MLA

Shimla Municipal Corporation today issued a notice to Inder Dutt, a Congress disqualified MLA from Badsar, alleging a breach of construction norms. Confirming the development, Architect Planner of Shimla MC, Mahmoob Shaikh, stated that the notice was sent to Inder Dutt, who resides near Goyal Motor in Taradevi, Shimla.
The notice was issued under section 253 of the Shimla HP Municipal Corporation Act 1994, citing unauthorized construction. Notably, a similar notice was also sent to the MLA on May 15, 2015. Inder Dutt was instructed to appear before the Architect Planner’s office on March 23, 2024, at 10 am. Failure to comply with the directive may result in action taken by the civic body against the illegal construction.
Inder Dutt Lakhanpal shared a copy of the notice on social media, mentioning that he was summoned under section 253. The former MLA expressed concern that his house might face demolition.
