Shimla, Mar 23
The six congress MLAs who were disqualified from the Himachal Vidhan sabha, have joined BJP today. In formal ceremony held at Delhi, in presence of BJP National secretary Arun Singh, former CM of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur and State president of BJP Dr Rajeev Bindal, informed about the development.
The six MLAs namely Rajinder Rana (Sujanpur), Sudhir Sharma (Dharamshala), Ravi Thakur (Lahaul & Spiti), Inderdutt Lakhanpal (Barsar), Chetanya Sharma (Gagret) and Devinder Bhutto (Bangana), were disqualified from the house on the charges of not adhering to the party whip, twice.
These MLA along with 3 independent MLAs were also allegedly the ones who may have cross voted against the Congress official candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi during the Rajya sabha poll.
Noteworthy that on Friday, the three independent MLAs namely KL Thakur, Ashish Sharma and Hosiyar Singh, had also tendered their resignation from the Himachal Vidhan sabha. Even as though their resignation has not been accepted by the speaker till filing of this report, however in a media brief they have displayed interest in joining BJP in future.
It is being speculated that soon now, a formal joining ceremony of the three independent MLAs may also be witnessed.
The membership letters were handed over to the six MLAs through Union minister and member of Parliament from Hamirur Anurag Thakur.
