In a incident, a car accident on Thursday claimed the lives of a husband and wife near Jhalta village in the Bhalu Kyar area under the Jubbal subdivision. The victims, identified as Sushil Kumar (34) and his wife Mamta (26), were traveling towards Jhalta when their car, bearing registration number HP 10A-9397, crashed into the Pabbar river.
Local residents, after a strenuous effort, managed to pull the couple from the submerged vehicle, but both were declared dead on the spot. The couple’s one-year-old daughter, who was also in the car, remains missing. Despite an ongoing search by local villagers, the child has not yet been found.
The exact cause of the accident is still unknown. DSP Rohru Ravinder Negi has confirmed the case and investigations are underway. Mahavir Jagta, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Jhalta, mentioned that details about the cause of the accident are still unclear. The local community continues to search for the missing child, hoping for her safe recovery.
