Caution urged as Himachal’s Covid numbers drop

Covid pendemic should not be undermined as the number of cases may increase with rise in footfall of tourists in summer season, the state official said.
The state health authority released data on the ongoing wave of the Covid pandemic, indicating that although the number of active cases has decreased gradually from 2,145 to 1,406 on April 24, the virus load is still high, especially compared to February and early March when the cases were lower.

State health authority has entrusted target to conduct Covid testing on regular basis as number of cases are still in alarming stage.
There were only 29 active cases on March 1 which went upto 873 on March 31. Similarly on April 1 it was 1196 and increased upto 2145 on April 13.
However, now the active cases have come down to 1406 on April 24. Which shows down ward trend.
On Monday 209 fresh Covid positive cases were recorded in Himachal Pradesh pushing the over caseload to 320600 in the hill state .
Among the fresh cases, 64 were reported from Kangra district, followed by 55 from Mandi, 12 from Shimla, 24 from Bilaspur, 13 from Solan, 11 from Chamba and 15 from Sirmour districts. In the state there were 298 recoveries. Total death toll has remained 4216. thus taking the overall number of the recovered patients at 314957.
