
Shimla, Sept 25,
The Central Students’ Association (CSA) of Himachal Pradesh University was formally constituted today at the university campus. The announcement was made by Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Mamta Mokta, who shared details of the newly elected office bearers and representatives.
Anchal Sharma, a student of the Department of Psychology, has been elected President of the CSA.
Payal Dharmaik from the Department of Microbiology will serve as Vice-President, while Sakshay Sharma of the Department of Data Science has been chosen as Secretary.
Taniya Tyagi, also from the Department of Microbiology, has been elected Joint Secretary.
In addition to the office bearers, 88 departmental representatives have been elected, including 24 boys and 64 girls, reflecting strong participation and representation from across the university’s academic spectrum.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahavir Singh, along with Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Verma, congratulated the elected student leaders and extended their best wishes.
They expressed hope that the newly constituted Central Students’ Association would work with dedication to uphold the democratic spirit of student representation while contributing positively to the university’s academic and cultural environment.
Prof. Mahavir Singh highlighted that student bodies such as the CSA not only provide a platform for leadership but also help strengthen dialogue between the administration and students.
He encouraged the representatives to engage constructively in university affairs and to focus on issues that support the overall development of the student community.
