Himachal Pradesh facing congestion of visitors in the main tourist hubs decided to develop the untapped places by promoting infrastructure development in such area.
Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap stated that administration would focus on the development of Chanshal Peak under Rohru subdivision at a height of 14830 feet, for tourism.
He said that Chanshal Peak of Shimla district is a very beautiful and picturesque tourist spot and efforts will be made to develop it.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the detailed report prepared by Colonel HS Chauhan, a resident of Rohru, for developing it for tourism.
The Deputy Commissioner said that Colonel HS Chauhan has prepared various reports on Chanshal Peak from 1993 till date. In the detailed report, complete information has been prepared on how to develop Chanshal Peak for tourism. He appreciated these efforts made by Colonel HS Chauhan.
He said that all the records will be collected for the development of the area. After the records are collected, a detailed report will be prepared and sent to the government so that further course of action can be taken. He also directed the Sub Divisional Magistrate Rohru to organize a meeting with the Forest Department.
He said that most of the area of Chanshal Peak belongs to the Forest Department and from that point of view, the Forest Department will also play a pivotal role in developing the area.
He said that this area is very important from the tourism prospective, which will provide self-employment opportunities to the people of the area.
Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, SDM Rohru Vijay Vardhan, SDM Dodra Kwar Sanjeev Kumar, DTDO Sanjay Bhagwati and other officers were present in the meeting.
