Close shave as a major road mishap was averted this morning when a HRTC bus coming from Sumdo to Reckong Peo this morning, skidded and over turned on the road at Muling Nullah, Upper Kinnaur, on Saturday.
Deputy commissioner Kinnaur Dr Amit Kumar Sharma said that at the time of mishap 17 passengers were on the board and all the crew members are safe.
According to Deputy commissioner one dozen passengers also sufferred minor injury including the driver and conductor. All the injured have been discharged from the hospital after being given first aid.
According to the information, at around 8.30AM in the morning, HRTC bus(HP-25A-5384) was coming from Samdo to Reckong Peo.
After the incident the locals helped taking out all the injured from the bus and shifted them to Reckong Peo Hospital.
Transport Corporation Inspector Gopal Negi said that all the 12 passengers including bus driver Manjeet and conductor Avinash are safe. Some have suffered minor injuries and have been given first aid.
According to Deputy commissioner most places of the district experiencing snowfall since last night. Due to mounting of snow on the roads has made them slippery. In such a situation, movement on the roads can prove dangerous. In view of the dangerous roads, the local administration has also advised people to avoid unnecessary trips and avoid driving on dangerous roads.
