Positivity rate of Hamipur and Mandi district is keeping above five percent, and is alarming. However the rest of state in the last three days, is having positivity rate between 2.2 to 2.5 percent said a State Government officer.
State Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi said in Covid bulletin issued to media here today that currently the virus load is above threshold level as there are about 1766 active cases in the hill state.
Hamirpur district is having 422 active cases recorded Covid positivity rate of around 5.5. Whereas Kangra though is having highest 440 active cases the positivity rate here is 2.5 percent.
Mandi district still has 370 active cases and a positivity rate of 5.4 percent is recorded here. Capital Shimla has a positivity rate of 2.2 percent with active cases 172.
The state seems to be performing on the vaccination front as the dependence of Hospitalization have reduced substantially: only 12.45 per cent ICU beds are occupied by the Covid patients out of 257 beds similarly only 2.67 pc oxygen equipped beds are occupied out of the total 2475 oxygenated beds.
State recorded 2.18 lakh positive cases including 224 in the last 24 hrs. As many as 2.12 people recovered from the pandemic and 3646 died. 11 Covid patients also died of Mucormycosis in the state.
Beside Covid, due to prolonged rainy seasons Scrub Typhus also become prevalent in the state as around 300 cases were traced so far nearly 100 in Shimla IGMC. Half a dozen of people died of the Scrub Typhus in the current monsoon season.
Indra Gandhi Medical college recorded two death of Scrub Typhus patients as one patient died on Sep 18 and another on Sep 22 in the Hospital, IGMC official informed.
