Member of Assembly from Arki and Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) Sanjay Awasthi has been attached with the Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to look after the work of Public Works Department, Health and Information and Public Relations Department. This was stated in a order issued by Chief Secretary today.
It is worthwhile to mention that Awasthi made his debut in public life after winning 2021 by election and was also elected for another term after winning the recent assembly polls. He is considered close to Chief minister and has got the benefit of proximity. Even in his short stint into politics has been entrusted with the work of important departments. Even the Arki assembly constituency is bound to be benefitted by the decision.
It was in 1990, that Nagin Chandra Pal was made a minister in the Shanta government, from this constituency. Later, the Congress elected former MLA Dharampal Thakur as the deputy speaker. If it is seen in this way, then after 30 years, Arki has not got the status of a minister (CPS).
It is to be noted that the matter of CPS is pending under legal investigation. Apart from this, Kuldeep Singh Pathania from Hamirpur has been made the chairman of Kangra Cooperative Bank.
