Kangra, Sept 25
Eleven people were rescued, this evening from Triund at Dharamshala in Kangra district. A spokesperson of emergency centre informed that the local authority (DSP SDRF) received a message through one Abhinandan Kalia, that 6 females and 5 males were struck due to heavy rainfall in the area.
All 11 tourists hail from Punjab, informed the spokesperson. He added that on receiving the message, a team of local home guards and SDRF personal jumped into action. The team immediately reached the a lot and reacued the stranded. Also along with the team, rescued 72 other tourists also, he added.
Pertinent to mention that heavy rain la in past 3 days have taken toll in Himachal Pradesh. On Sunday, three people also went missing in a Chamba village flashflood. Here number of houses were damaged and livestock also got washed away.
