Shimla, Sept 26
Seven died as a vehicle carrying seventeen people met with accident near Ghiyagi area of Aut-Luhri National Highway No-305 in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh on late Sunday evening, confirmed a police officer. A tempo traveler (UP 14 HT 8272) rolled down from hill. While five died on the spot, two others lost life during treatment.(as per info at 1:39AM). Fresh updates on the incident are awaited yet.
The 10 injured have been taken to Regional- Kullu hospital for treatment.
According to information, the tempo traveler was descending from Jalori Pass towards Ghiyagi at around 8:45 pm on Sunday night. During this journey the driver is reported to have lost control and the vehicle fell into a deep gorge. Hearing the sound of the accident, people living around gave information to the police-administration. On getting the information, police-administration team immediately left for the spot.
HP Kullu Superintendent Gurudev Sharma said that information had been received about the accident from near Ghiyagi in Banjar. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot. However, due to darkness, the team suffered numerous problems as occupants of the vehicle could not be traced easily.
Getting information about the accident, MLA of Banjar assembly constituency Surendra Shourie also reached the spot, and took stock of the incident. MLA Surendra Shourie has expressed deep grief over this accident.
