Shimla, Sept 26
Nine lives are lost, five gone missing and sixteen suffered injuries in various rain related mishaps in the past 24 hours. A spokesperson of the DOEC informed that 3 roads including 2 NHs got blocked and 16 foot bridges were also damaged.
In Bilaspur distrcit a LPG cylinder blast claimed one life and four injured in Jhandutta tehsil at around 8:50PM on Sunday.
On the same day at Chamba in a flashflood at around 4:15PM, three went missing, while 8 foot bridges and 8 gharats were damaged. This incident took place in Bhakni GP Dimla of the district.
A road accident near Jalori pass claimed 7 lives and 10 were injured. In the incidence a tempo traveller went of road near Gyagi in Banjar sub division late on Sunday evening.
Another person in Baddi Brotiwala of Solan district is feared to have drowned. “One person drowned due to heavy rain and still missing, ” informed the spokesperson. Rescue is still going on to find the missing, he stated.
In Sirmaur district one more life was lost as flashflood occured here at around 4PM. Here at Baru Sahib of the district, rain water entered in collage building. All student are shifted to near Guru dwara . And one person list life due to electric shock, informed the spokesperson.
In the same distrcit at Moja Mandi, One person was washed due to over flow of water and still missing.
On Sunday 11 people had to be rescued from Truind at Dharamshala. All tourists from Punjab, included 6 females and 5 males.
A pagal Nalla blocked NH 5 in Kinnaur. A landslide forced road closure near Udaipur sub division in Lahaul and Spiti district. Even the Chopal Nerva road is repirted to have blocked at various places due to landslides. Efforts are being made to restore the roads soon, added the spokesperson.
