A tragic road accident claimed four lives on the Ramnagar Khola link road under Kotkhai police station area. The deceased included a woman.
A pick-up vehicle met with an accident on the stretch, resulting in the death of one woman and three men on the spot. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
Joginder Singh, along with Nepali labourers Rajesh Bisht and Ekendra Shahi, died on the spot. Four others—Nav Bahadur, Sajan, Laxmi, and Dil Bahadur Shahi—were rushed to CHC Kotkhai. During treatment, Laxmi succumbed to her injuries, while Dil Bahadur died later at IGMC Shimla. The two others remain under medical care.
An FIR (No. 73/2025 dated 15/09/2025) has been registered at PS Kotkhai under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita on the statement of Sunder Singh, brother of the deceased driver. He alleged that the mishap occurred due to negligence of Joginder Singh, who lost control of the vehicle while maneuvering.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the region, with locals expressing shock over the loss of lives.
