
Four killed, nine injured in Renuka pickup accident

The four persons killed in the pickup accident in the Renuka area of Sirmaur district have been identified as Rajendra (37), son of Nupa Ram, and Deshraj (23), son of Prem Singh, both residents of Arlu, and Rikhi Ram (58), son of Jagar Singh, and Ram Gopal (62), son of Ganga Ram, both residents of Chinad.
Nine persons were injured in the accident, four of them reported to be in critical condition.
The injured have been identified as Brij Mohan (62), son of Kanthi Ram; Kripa Ram (61), son of Ganga Ram; Devendra Singh (44), son of Hemchand; Sunil Sharma (21), son of Ram Swaroop; Ram Swaroop (44), son of Dilip Singh; Jai Prakash (45), son of Dayaram; Sandeep (21), son of Kamal; Kamalendra (48), son of Ramanand; and pickup driver Kapil Dev (39), son of Virendra.

Most of the injured are residents of Chinad and Arlu, while the driver is from Dungi. The accident has added to the recent series of rain-related mishaps and road accidents reported from Sirmaur district during the ongoing monsoon.
