Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut embarked on a new journey into electoral politics by filing her nomination papers for the Mandi Parliamentary seat. Accompanied by former CM Jairam Thakur, BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, and her mother, Kangana exuded confidence as she addressed the media, expressing gratitude for the festive atmosphere surrounding her nomination. She acknowledged the overwhelming support of the people of Mandi, emphasizing their role in bringing her into the political arena. Kangana highlighted the progress of women in Mandi, from battling female foeticide to excelling in fields such as the army, education, and now politics.
In her address, Kangana didn’t shy away from criticizing the Congress Party, labeling their alleged anti-national mentality as a concern for the nation. Despite her celebrity status, she faces an imminent challenge from Public Works Department minister Vikramaditya Singh, a formidable opponent and scion of a royal family. Singh’s strong political background and local influence posed a significant obstacle for Kangana and the BJP. The competition is intensifying as Singh’s candidacy has threatened an overshadow over Kangana’s debut in the electoral arena.
Though despite facing tough competition, Kangana remains undeterred, buoyed by the enthusiasm of her supporters and the backing of the BJP machinery. As the nomination process unfolded, the Mandi Parliamentary constituency in Himachal Pradesh emerging as a hot seat in the Lok Sabha elections. In the midst of political fervor and anticipation, the spotlight remained firmly on Kangana Ranaut, whose candidacy has injected a fresh energy into the electoral landscape of Mandi and Himachal Pradesh.
