Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that in the month of June state Government is also considering to procure Sputnik and Covaxin vaccine to cope up with the short supply of Covid shield, however no order has been placed with the firm so far.
Interacting with media persons about the Covid situation in the state Thakur said that Government may consider to launch Sputnik and Covaxin along with Covid shield however the two vaccines are not currently available in the country.
” We would talk with both firms to supply the two additional vaccines however order has not been placed so far” Thakur said. He also informed that Sputnik wants to manufacture the vaccine in the state which has been assured by the Government at Industrial town shop Baddi. Thakur said that currently Covidshield is being used however two other vaccines could be tried in the month of June though decision would be taken on the basis of availability of vaccine.
Relaxation of Covid curfew likely
He also informed that several delegations including of various Vyapar Mandel met him yesterday and he assured them to give relaxation in the Covid curfew. He added that the same is highly likely also a sharp decline in the Covid active cases from 40,000 to 20000 is being noted currently.
He said that new cases are declining in the state however the death of covid patient continues, though was little better yesterday. We are keen to extend the relaxation in the Covid curfew in the next cabinet meeting likely to be held on May 31 but only keeping in mind the prevailing situation of the pandemic, he informed.
Thakur said that he was scheduled to visit Delhi to meet the Central leadership today but was deferred. I would visit Delhi after Jun 1 as the Covid situation did not permit to leave the state, he astated.
Responding to a query about manufacturing of fake Ramesdivir in Baddi industrial area he said that after sealing the facility the production of fake drug has been stopped.
