Shimla, March 9
The Himachal Pradesh High court taking suo moto action today ordered the State of Himachal including all the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of the all districts to submit status report in the Manikaran incident and uproar created by the some religious outfit of Punjab in Bilaspur district.
The division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sabina and Justice Satyan Vaidya registered a Public Interest Litigation in the court on its own motion versus state of Himachal Pradesh.
The court directed the state government to file status report whether it has taken any action on the said incidents occurred during last few days in different parts of the state. On behalf of State notice was accepted by Varun Chandel, Additional Advocate General and requested for an adjournment to enable to seek the State’s reply.
Court has now fixed the next date of hearing on March 13, 2023 in the matter.
