The high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh are currently witnessing fresh snowfall, while some downstream regions are experiencing light rainfall. The weather remains partly cloudy in other parts of the state.
According to reports, Gondhla in Lahaul Spiti received six centimeters of snowfall, while Hansa recorded five centimeters and Keylong three centimeters.
Mandi district reported 19.4 millimeters of rainfall, while Gohar received 15 mm, and Banjar in Kullu recorded 12.4 mm. Additionally, Pandoh received 10 mm, Jogindernagar seven mm, and Dharamshala in Kangra 5.8 mm of rainfall.
Although vehicular traffic remained operational at the South portal of Rohtang Tunnel, the area experienced light snowfall.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several places in the state, predicting thunderstorms and lightning activity.
Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature has risen by a couple of degrees in certain areas. Keylong recorded minus 0.6 degrees Celsius, while tourist destinations like Narkanda reported 3.9 degrees Celsius, Kalpa in Kinnaur 4.4 degrees Celsius, and Dalhousie and Kufri at 6.5 degrees Celsius. The temperatures in Shimla, Manali, and Solan stood at 9, 11, and 11 degrees Celsius respectively. At Jubbarhati airport, the temperature was 11.4 degrees Celsius, while Bhuntar airport recorded 12.6 degrees Celsius. Dharamshala reported 11.5 degrees Celsius, Una 14 degrees Celsius, Nahan 13 degrees Celsius, Kangra 13.9 degrees Celsius, Mandi 12.4 degrees Celsius, Bilaspur 15.3 degrees Celsius, and Chamba 13 degrees Celsius.
Residents and tourists are advised to take necessary precautions as unpredictable weather conditions persist in the region.
