This morning, the weather remained overcast after overnight rough weather and thunderstorms. Weather conditions are not expected to improve in the next 24 hours. The Met Office has predicted that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to continue for the next two to three hours in most places across the state. There is also a high possibility of heavy rainfall or hail and gusty winds at isolated places over the state.
Due to the inclement weather conditions, the night temperature has plummeted, and it is expected to remain normal for the next two days, as there is a forecast of four days of inclement weather. The IMD has predicted wet-weather conditions for the next week, issuing an orange alert for thunderstorms accompanied by high-speed windstorms, lightning, and hailstorms.
The Met Office has issued an orange alert for today and a yellow alert for the next two days, owing to a strong western disturbance and the subsequent impact of Arabian sea cyclonic circulation in the northern Western Himalayas. Weathermen have cautioned people not to venture out in the open and to protect their harvesting Kharif and growing Rabi crops from the impact of weather vagaries, as heavy downpours along with hail may damage fruit trees and other crops. Rain is likely to occur at most places in the mid and high reaches over the next two days, and many places in the rest of the state. Weathermen have added that there will be no change in the inclement weather conditions until April 21.
