Shimla, Nov 20,
In a recent development, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has taken cognizance of a plea filed by residents of Sarteyoela and Balogh villages in the Karsog Tehsil of Mandi district. The petitioners have alleged severe deprivation of basic amenities, including proper roads, electricity, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.
The court, recognizing the gravity of the situation, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Mandi to conduct an on-ground inspection within a week and submit a detailed report on the veracity of the allegations. The report is expected to shed light on the extent of infrastructural deficiencies and the challenges faced by the villagers.
The court’s intervention comes as a ray of hope for the affected residents, who have been struggling with the lack of essential services. The petitioners have highlighted the perilous conditions faced by children, who are forced to cross the Sutlej River on makeshift bridges, putting their lives at risk.
The next hearing of the case is scheduled for December 20, 2024.
