Shimla/Una, April 4,
Two separate incidents in Himachal Pradesh have claimed the lives of young men under suspicious and tragic circumstances, prompting police investigations in Bilaspur and Una districts.
In the first incident, a migrant labourer was found dead under unclear circumstances near Bilaspur town late Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Laltu Kumar, a native of Saharsa district in Bihar, who was working as a daily wage labourer in Bilaspur.

Preliminary examination revealed bleeding from the nose and injuries on the lips and chin, raising suspicion about the circumstances leading to his death. However, his companions, who lived with him in a rented accommodation and worked under the same contractor, have not expressed any foul play. Police suspect that he may have died due to a fall, though the exact cause will be confirmed after a post-mortem examination.
Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal confirmed the incident and stated that further investigation is underway by the Sadar police station.
In a separate incident in Una district, a 24-year-old  from Punjab drowned in the Gobind Sagar Lake at Mandli Ghat on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Akashdeep, a resident of Tarn Taran district.
Reports indicate that Akashdeep was en route to the Baba Balaknath temple at Deotsidh when he stopped at Mandli Ghat. While washing his hands and feet at the lake, he reportedly lost balance and slipped into the deep waters. Despite immediate rescue attempts by locals, he could not be traced.
Police officials from Bangana police station reached the spot and initiated a search operation with the help of local residents. However, the operation had to be suspended due to darkness. Divers from BBMB Nangal in Punjab have been requisitioned, and efforts to recover the body are set to resume on Saturday.
Authorities have urged caution near water bodies and stated that both cases are being investigated as per standard procedure.
