Shimla, March 13,
The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s budget session calendar has been revised following a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.
As per the revised schedule, the session — earlier set to meet on March 15 — will now remain suspended on March 14, 15, and 16. The state budget for the financial year 2025-26, which was initially planned for 2:00 PM, will now be presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at 11:00 AM on March 17.
The changes were proposed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan and approved by the BAC. The opposition, led by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, also agreed to the revised calendar.
Speaker Pathania clarified that no discussions were held on extending the session, and future session timings will be reviewed weekly by the BAC.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, BJP Legislature Party’s Chief Whip Sukh Ram Chaudhary, and other members. The revised schedule aims to ensure focused and effective discussions on the state budget and other key legislative matters.
