Shimla, June 26
The Directorate of Elementary Education in Himachal Pradesh has issued notices to 250 trained graduate teachers (TGT) from 116 schools where the Class 10 results were less than 25%. These teachers have been given 15 days to respond to the show cause notices. Those who delivered less than 25% results will not receive their annual increment this year, and this will be recorded in their Annual Confidential Report (ACR). Additionally, warning letters will be issued. Among the 116 schools, 30 had a zero percent pass rate.
Ashish Kohli, the Director of Elementary Education, stated that the process of seeking explanations from the teachers responsible for the poor results has begun. Education department officials mentioned that the process of issuing show cause notices to these teachers is underway, with some notices already sent. Recently, the Directorate of Education obtained detailed results of the Class 10 exams from the Dharamshala School Education Board. Based on this report, action has been initiated.
The report indicated that several schools had poor results despite having a sufficient number of teachers, while many others faced a shortage of teachers. Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma, the Director of Higher Education, mentioned that a detailed report on the Class 12 results is being prepared. Teachers with poor annual results in this class will also receive notices soon.
