Shimla, Aug 18,
Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Vikramaditya Singh, son of six-time Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh and former Congress MP Pratibha Singh, is all set to begin a new chapter in his personal life. The 34-year-old legislator from Shimla Rural constituency will tie the knot for the second time on September 22 in Chandigarh, in what family sources describe as a private and low-key ceremony.
Singh will marry Amreen Kaur, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Panjab University, Chandigarh, and resident of Chandigarh. Unlike his first marriage, which saw grand receptions in Jaipur, Delhi, Shimla, and Rampur, this wedding will be attended only by close relatives and family friends.
This will be Singh’s second marriage. His first wedding with Sudarshana Chundawat of Rajasthan’s Amet royal family took place in 2019, but the relationship soon turned turbulent. By 2021, marital disputes surfaced, with Sudarshana filing a domestic violence case in Udaipur court. Two years ago, the court directed Singh to pay an interim maintenance of Rs 4 lakh per month, before the couple was formally granted divorce recently.
With the legal battle now behind him, Singh is preparing to start afresh with Amreen. His mother, Pratibha Singh, is said to be keen on keeping the celebrations simple yet traditional, reflecting the family’s preference for privacy this time.
Apart from his personal life, Singh has remained a prominent political face in Himachal. Last year, he contested the Mandi Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket, but lost to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut of the BJP by a margin of 74,755 votes. Despite the setback, he continues to represent Shimla Rural Assembly constituency for the second consecutive term and serves as a Cabinet Minister in the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government.
