Shimla, Mar 2,
The Himachal Pradesh police has constituted a four police officers board (BOO) to review the security arrangement for the Vidhan Sabha complexes in Shimla and Tapovan at Dharamshala. In an order Director General police Sanjay Kundu stated that to review the security arrangement and to create SOPs a board of officers (BOO) have been constituted comprising of Santosh Kumar Patial IGP as chairman, Shalini Agnihotri, S.P Kangra as member, Sanjeev Gandhi, S.P Shimla Member and Bhupinder Negi, S.P, CID as third member.
The decision was taken in light of a meeting held with Speaker Vidhan Sabha on March 1. According to a press release issued by the Vidhan Sabha secretariat on the same day the speaker had expressed displeasure over the February 27 incident in which Haryana police officers and CRPF personnel entered the assembly premises jumping over the security cordon.
Moreover it is noteworthy that the February 27 incident of security breech was not isolated but recently Dharmshala Tapovan Assembly complex was also knocked by pro-khalistani activists to deface the assembly gate by Khalistani wall writing.
