HP High Court and district courts declare holiday due to heavy rainfall, kullu closes all govt institutions, Shimla faces water distribution disruption.
Shimla, July 10
Due to continuous heavy rainfall causing hardships for litigants, lawyers, staff, and judicial officers, the Hon’ble Authorities have declared July 10, 2023, as a holiday for the Hon’ble High Court and all Courts of District Judiciary in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The decision aims to alleviate the difficulties caused by the inclement weather.
To compensate for the holiday, a future non-working day will be designated as a working day in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. All concerned parties are requested to take note of this arrangement. The Ld District & Sessions Judges are directed to inform the general public, litigants, and advocates through Bar Associations in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile District administration Kullu has also declared a local holiday in the area for all offices except essential services. Yesterday all educational institutions across the state were.ordered to.remain closed for July 10 & 11.
Also in an unrelated matter, the water distribution in Shimla is being disrupted due to floods at the water sources. As a result, the pumping has completely stopped. The authorities are urging residents to utilize rainwater for hygiene purposes and to reserve the water in their tanks solely for drinking. Cooperation from the public is requested during this flood-like situation, and any inconvenience caused is regretted.
