The Joint Front of HPSEBL Employees and Engineers has raised serious concerns over the disappearance of Er. Vimal Negi, Chief Engineer, HPSEBL, who was on deputation at HPPCL. According to reports, Er. Negi has been missing since 1:30 PM on March 10, 2025.

In a letter to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, employees’ representative Er. Lokesh Thakur urged the state government to provide all possible support to Er. Negi’s family in locating him. The letter also highlights troubling reports suggesting that Er. Negi faced a hostile and toxic work environment at HPPCL, with similar concerns being raised in the media.
Given the circumstances, employees have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. They have also called for a review of all cases handled by Er. Negi’s office to ascertain whether he was under pressure to approve questionable decisions.
Additionally, the employees’ body has urged the government to improve workplace conditions within HPSEBL. They expressed concerns that many employees feel fearful and uncertain due to recent organizational changes under the guise of rationalization.
Emphasizing the importance of employee well-being, the letter stated that a motivated workforce is crucial for Himachal Pradesh’s power sector to compete with leading organizations in India and abroad.
Copies of the letter have also been sent to HPSEBL Chairman Sanjay Gupta and HPPCL Chairman-cum-Chief Secretary Probodh Saxena for their attention.
