HPSEBL proposes Withdrawal of Electricity subsidies for select Employee categories from 2025

The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has proposed to withdraw electricity subsidies for specific categories of employees and pensioners, including Group A and B employees and pensioners of the State Government,
Group A and B employees and pensioners of the Central Government (including those working for Boards, Corporations, Universities, and Public Sector Undertakings), and military and para-military personnel residing in the state.
A letter dated December 31, 2024, issued by the Secretary of Power to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, emphasized the need to reduce the burden of subsidies on the state exchequer.
Noteworthy that the letter comes in public domain a day after the decision of Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to volunteerily give up subsidy on five power conection.
