The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has achieved a significant milestone by securing the 8th position in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. The rankings were announced today by Dharmendra Pradhan, Education Minister, Government of India, during a ceremony held in New Delhi.
In addition to its remarkable performance in the Innovation category, IIT Mandi has also made impressive strides in other areas, climbing to the 31st position in the Engineering category and securing the 72nd position in the Overall category of the NIRF 2024 rankings.
Dharmendra Pradhan, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the Ministry of Education’s commitment to continuously improving the ranking process. He stated, “The Ministry of Education has continuously incorporated feedback from HEIs to make the ranking process more progressive and transparent. We are committed to further enhancing this mechanism to ensure greater transparency and fairness. I urge all public and private sector institutions to actively participate in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, as this will not only help them benchmark their performance but also drive continuous improvement and excellence in the higher education sector.”
Dr. Kumar Sambhav Pandey, Registrar of IIT Mandi, expressed his delight at the institution’s achievement, saying, “We are thrilled to see IIT Mandi achieve the 8th position in the Innovation category of NIRF 2024. This recognition reflects our dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our students and faculty. The NIRF, conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is an annual ranking that assesses higher education institutions across various parameters, including teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
