Indo-Tibet border road blocked by landslide in Kinnaur district
Shimka, Nov 6
In a recent development in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, the Indo-Tibet border roads have been impacted by a landslide and the rolling boulders. The district administration issued a press release, notifying the public of this incident, which occurred on the old Hindustan Tibet National Highway between Pooh and Korick. The heavy boulders have not only blocked the road but have also disrupted communication between Pooh and Korick on the Ambala-Korick NH-5, which is located near the border of Himachal Pradesh and Tibet.
This situation has forced a complete halt in all vehicular traffic along this route until the highway is successfully restored.
Furthermore, NH-5 is facing disruptions between Nathpa and Recong-peo for the past week due to ongoing road widening activities at Nathpa, resulting in partial disruptions to traffic flow.
