JAC of protesting power employees meet Chief minister
Shimla, Jan 18
Joint Action Committee (JAC) of unions of Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board employees and engineers met with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu after a massive demonstration against the government today. The protesting employees were assured by the government that their interests would be protected.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the State Government was committed to the welfare of the employees of the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, and their demands were being considered positively.
Presiding over the meeting with the Joint Action Committee of Electricity Board employees and engineers at Oak, over Shimla today, the chief minister said that the financial and technical aspects of OPS and other demands of the employees were discussed at length with the committee.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the state government has always been sensitive to protecting the interests of its employees, and numerous decisions were being taken for their welfare.
The government urged the employees to resolve their issues with the management, and it has taken many measures towards ensuring fiscal discipline and management in the state. The financial position and functioning of government boards, corporations, and other institutions are being strengthened.
The government is also committed to improving the financial condition of the State Electricity Board and will certainly protect the interests and welfare of the employees.
Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Principal Secretary Bharat Khera, Convener Joint Action Committee Lokesh Thakur, Co-Conveners Hira Lal Verma and Laxman Kapta, and other members were also present.
