Shimla, Oct 24,
In a major announcement, Jogindra Central Cooperative Bank has decided to release pending arrears of dearness allowance (DA) amounting to Rs 1.75 crore for its employees. This decision was made during the Board of Directors meeting held at the bank’s new head office on Wednesday, marking the occasion of the bank’s centenary celebrations.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had previously committed to the release of these arrears at the inauguration of the bank’s new building.
The board members unanimously agreed to honor this commitment. Additionally, in celebration of the upcoming Diwali festival, the bank announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 1.95 crore, equivalent to 46 days’ salary, for its employees.
The board also confirmed the regularization of 58 employees who have successfully completed their probation period.
Looking ahead, the bank is set to expand its workforce, with plans to fill 30 new posts of Executive Assistant. Notifications for these positions will be issued soon.
Further developments include the introduction of net banking services and the expansion of the bank’s branch network. Two new branches are set to open in Dumher (Arki constituency) and Vardhman Chowk (Baddi) by December, along with an extension counter in Waknaghat, Kandaghat.
The meeting was attended by Managing Director Pankaj Sood, along with directors Yogesh Kumar, Sanjeev Kaushal, Jitendra Thakur, and others.
