Landslide Blocks NH-05 Kalka Shimla, in Solan dist.

Reports arriving here that NH 05Kalka Shimla has been closed due to a landslide.
The District Emergency Operations Center (DEOC) in Solan has reported a landslide incident that occurred at Koti on NH-05, the Shimla to Kalka road, leading to a complete blockage of the highway. The landslide, which took place earlier today, has disrupted traffic and left commuters stranded.
Authorities have advised motorists to avoid NH-05 until further notice due to the ongoing clearance operations. The recommended alternate route for vehicles during this period is through Jangeshu and Dharampur.
Emergency response teams are actively engaged in efforts to clear the debris and restore normal traffic flow. However, due to the severity of the landslide, it is anticipated that the clearance process might take some time.
As a precautionary measure, travelers planning to use NH-05 are urged to stay updated with official announcements and consider using the alternative route to minimize inconvenience.
Meanwhile the State polce has notified a alternative route for the time being.

Noteworthy that the part has been reeling with landslides since rains started in the state on June 25. In the regard recently the former Deputy Mayor of Shimla has also filed a criminal complaint against NHAI and their associates involved in this road building project.
