Shimla, April 3- Mainly cloudy skies, as another WD impacts Himachal
Himachal Pradesh is currently experiencing another western disturbance, causing cloudy skies and light rainfall across the state. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next two days, with widespread rain, thunderstorms, and light snowfall predicted in high-altitude areas.
Over the last 24 hours, the state received 5 mm of rain in Pandoh (Mandi), 4 mm in Jogindernagar, and 2.2 mm in Una and Amb. Palampur received 2.8 mm of rain, while Dharamshala received 1.4 mm. Shimla and Manali are experiencing mostly cloudy weather, with light drizzling earlier in the day.
The minimum temperature in the state remains normal, with Shimla at 7.2 degrees, Bhuntar airport at 9.5 degrees, Kalpa at two degrees, Dharamshala at 10.2, Una at 13.5, Nahan at 12, Keylong at 0.2, Manali at 6, Kangra at 13, Mandi at 11, Bilaspur at 14, Hamirpur at 13, Chamba at 11.7, Dalhousie at 7.1, Jubberhatti airport at 9.4, Kufri at 4.5, and Narkanda at 3 degrees.
According to reports from the Lahaul-Spiti Administration, the Manali Leh National Highway (NH-003) is open for all vehicles up to Darcha. The Darcha Shinkula road is open for local four-by-four driving vehicles, while the Pangi Killar Highway (SH-26) is open to all local vehicles. The Kaza road (NH-505) is closed from Graphu to Kaza, and Sumdo to Losar is open for all vehicles. Tribal roads in the district will allow traffic until snowfall.
The State Disaster Management Authority reported a landslide in Village Jepla sub-Tehsil Krishangarh of District Solan on Sunday afternoon, which resulted in the complete damage of a petrol pump. No loss of life was reported, but other landslides have been triggered by recent heavy rainfall.
People living in landslide-prone areas must remain alert and take necessary precautions during such weather conditions.
