Shimla, Nov 7
A man running beside Kalka Shimla Railway line near Summerhill station was hit by the moving Himalayan Queen on the track, Saturday afternoon and he died in the hospital, confirmed a police officer.
A local resident of lower Fagli Mahesh Bhardwaj(49)was running near the railway track around 1730hrs on Saturday when he was hit by Himalayan Queen train coming from Kalka to Shimla near Summerhill railway station.
Railway Police took Mahesh Bhardwaj to the railway station by this Himalayan Queen train from where he was taken to IGMC Hospital Shimla for treatment in an ambulance.
Police officer confirmed that Mahesh Bhardwaj scummbed to injuries at IGMC this evening. Body would be released to his family members after the postmortem.
Further proceedings and case has been lodged at Railway Police Station Shimla into the mishap.
