A man died from burn injuries after a devastating fire broke out in the Batahad area of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh last night.
Kullu Police Chief, Dr. Karthikeya, informed that a major fire broke out in a house around 01:30 AM while the victim was in deep sleep. Local residents attempted to douse the inferno, but the man succumbed to burn injuries in his bed. The deceased was identified as Jeevan Lal (42), a resident of Batahad.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The Banjar police took custody of the body and brought it to Banjar Hospital. After the post-mortem, it was handed over to the deceased’s family.
Gram Panchayat Pardhan, Shanta Devi, informed that the deceased was sleeping alone in his room when the incident occurred.
