Mild tremors jolt Kangra district of HPÂ

Light tremors were felt in many parts of Kangra district as a magnitude of 2.8 on rictar scale was recorded on Friday Morning in Himachal Pradesh, confirmed the National Disaster management media release.
The 2.8 Richter scale tremors were felt in many places in the highly sensitive seismological zone of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at 0455 hrs on Friday. The epicenter of the earth quake was located at Latitude 32.38 and Longitude 75.90 and 37 deep in the hills of Kangra district.
There are no report of loss of life and property due to the light quake.
It is worthwhile to mention that on April 4, 1905 Kangra district witnessed a devastating earth quake measuring about 7.8 in which more than 20000 people were killed as 14000 houses and cowsheds got grounded.
