An American paraglider who had been missing since June 11 has been located in a remote area near Kaza, the subdivision headquarters of Spiti Valley in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) announced via a post on X that the tourist went missing while paragliding near Kaza.
Noteworthy that he had strictthe flight from Gete village on June 11 but hit a steep hill due a strong windstorm. ITBP Jawans were deployed in the trecarous hill to trace the missing pilot as was traced on Sunday after six days of rescue operation.
The district administration discovered the body but initially could not recover it due to harsh conditions. A rescue team trekked approximately 4 km to reach the site and successfully accessed the body at 4:00 pm. The team is currently working to transport the body back and is expected to reach the road by 9:00 pm today.
