Police detains two involved in Iron Pole theft
Shimla, May 15
Himachal Pradesh Police claimed solving of an alleged theft case of Private Company about missing of around 70 iron pole from Chowka Nala Taklech near Rohru road under Police Station Rampur in Shimla district.
In a press release issued today Superintendent of police Shimla Garauv Singh said that a case was registered under Section 303(2) of the IPC in May 12, 2026, that approximately 70 H-poles (iron poles) belonging to the company, which had not yet been wired, had been stolen by unknown persons on the Chowka Nala .
During the investigation, the police team thoroughly examined footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area. During investigation, a Bolero camper vehicle was seen moving frequently near the scene of the incident on the night of May 5th and 6th, 2026.
Upon identifying the vehicle with local residents, the owner was identified as Vicky(30 yrs), son of Shri Kaul Ram, resident of village Jamedi, Dr. Luhri, Tehsil Ani, District Kullu.

Following police interrogation, accused Vicky was arrested on May 13, 2026. Further investigation into the case led to the arrest of a second accused on May 14 identified as Suresh Kumar(35 yrs), son of Shri Ran Bahadur, resident of village Johar, Dr. and Tehsil Karsog, District Mandi.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted to stealing the pole. Further investigation and verification are ongoing, and other facts are being investigated.
